Their Wenatchee office opened in 2014 under the Principal-in-Charge, Adam Miller. They work on a multitude of different projects ranging from sewer, water, storm, fish hatchery, and transportation. They are looking for an entry-level civil engineering student to assist the office on our engineering projects. They currently have four PEs and one EIT in the office, with a drafter and another PE on the way. With a small office, young engineers have the opportunity to work on many of the various projects that we have.     TEC is looking for a new graduate EIT to assist in a variety of engineering tasks. Training is available and no experience beyond a civil engineering degree is necessary. The hire for this position will be trained as a project manager and must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Candidates must also have excellent self-management skills and the ability to manage other employees.

    The position will primarily consist of geotechnical engineering tasks such as conducting subsurface soil investigations; writing technical reports, soil sampling; testing of asphalt, concrete, and backfill soil; and conducting foundation soil evaluations. Small structural engineering tasks will also be incorporated into this position. These tasks include foundation crack evaluations, bearing wall assessments, basic residential structural analysis, retaining wall design, simple CAD drawings, etc. Project management duties will include drafting project proposals, tracking project budgets, managing engineering technicians, managing field work schedules, etc.

    This position will involve extensive outdoor field work in all weather conditions and a lot of driving. Candidates must have a valid driver's license and a good driving record. A take home work truck will be provided. Candidates must be able to lift and move 40-pound equipment regularly and work outside in all weather conditions. It is anticipated that this position will be approximately 65% driving and field work and 35% office work. TEC intends for this to be a work from home position and will provide candidates with any office equipment needed for their home office.

    Ideal candidates will have all or some of the following experiences: geotechnical or structural engineering internship, materials lab testing, construction inspection, employee management, construction, or equipment operation.

    Summer graduates with immediate part time availability will be considered. Winter graduates must have part time availability during the summer and fall semester to be considered.

    DDOT Internship

    As part of the District’s Department of Transportation (Washington D.C.) (DDOT) cooperative agreement with the Howard University Transportation Research Center (HUTRC), DDOT engages full-time students as interns from universities in the DC Metropolitan Area and all over the country to promote the advancement of engineering and policy research. HUTRC recruits the interns and manages the program on DDOT’s behalf. In 2020, the DDOT Internship Summer Program will start around June 1st and run for 10 weeks.
